Are you interested in a career in state government? Then we invite you to join us for the 2024 State of North Carolina Career Expo!

This Career Expo is FREE for all attendees.

The 2024 State of North Carolina Career Expo will feature a variety of state agencies, the University of North Carolina System Office and North Carolina universities. Participants can chat one-on-one with recruiters to learn more about career opportunities with the State of North Carolina. 

The Higher Education to NC Government career initiative, Ed2NC, will also have a booth to discuss entry-level and internship opportunities with various agencies for current college students and recent graduates. They and others interested in entry-level positions may visit the Ed2NC Entry-Level Positions Data Bank to learn about state government jobs that align with their major and degree.

Attend an Information Session

Some agencies will be holding prescheduled onsite interviews and having information sessions.  Recruiters will also be available to assist individuals with creating accounts from which they may apply for state government jobs, as well as help set alerts for job notifications in their field(s) of interest.

As a job seeker/attendee, you can expect to speak with recruiters from various state agencies and representatives from the schools within the UNC School System. You can attend information sessions to learn more about some of our agencies and how to apply for state jobs. 

Of course we would like you to register, but it is not a requirement. You can come to the event and register once you get there. Please note, registering before the event will allow for a quicker check in process.

You can meet with the agency recruiters from the agencies that you are interested in and receive valuable information about applying for their open positions in hopes of standing out and making it to the pool of most qualified applicants. 

Some of the agencies will be conducting on-site interviews and providing conditional offers; however, those interviews will be scheduled ahead of the event.

The Talent Acquisition team will reach out after the expo to all registrants as a follow-up to the career expo. 

You can reach out to recruiters from agencies that you are interested in at any time. Visit their websites for contact information.

Resumes and/or cover letters are not necessary. You can bring along a notebook to take notes for tips, contact information and other resources from the recruiters and information sessions.

Business casual or causal clothing and comfortable shoes are recommended.

No, this is an in-person Career Expo. There are opportunities for some of our agencies to attend events virtually throughout the year. Please visit the agency websites to see when they are having a virtual event. You can also follow our agencies on LinkedIn to find out about virtual and other events that we are participating in.
