Temporary Employee Testimonials

Moon Leung

NC Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA)

"I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute my specialties during my tenure of a temporary employee. This position in DMVA provides an avenue for gaining valuable experience, honing new skills, and broadening my professional networks. Attending training, sharing best practices, and collaborations provided by state agencies are also particularly important for someone like me who is new to the state and interested in a career in public service. I have boosted our social media presence and reach by doubling the followers with proven strategies. DMVA and the Communications Office’s supportive work environment, job recognition, and satisfaction enhance my sense of belonging, and builds up my confidence to better serve the state and its people."

Ella Dyer

NC Office of State Human Resources (OSHR)

"Starting my journey with Temporary Solutions as an Information and Communication Specialist has been an incredibly rewarding experience, even in just my first month. From the beginning, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that support branding and engagement for both Temporary Solutions and the Office of State Human Resources. What I’ve found especially fulfilling is the chance to be creative every day. Whether it’s developing content, supporting integrated recruitment campaigns, or helping strengthen stakeholder communication, I’ve been able to learn and grow in ways I didn’t expect so early on. I’ve gained insight into how state government functions and have seen firsthand how impactful and dynamic temporary roles can be. Being part of such a supportive and efficient team has shown me that temporary employment offers more than just experience. It provides a pathway to professional development, valuable connections, and the opportunity to make a real difference. I’m excited about what lies ahead and proud to contribute to North Carolina’s public workforce."
