Governor Pat McCrory recognized the extraordinary accomplishments of 16 state government employees during the Governor’s Awards for Excellence ceremony today.
“The award recipients represent the best of the best of our state’s public servants,” said Gov. McCrory. “As a result of their ongoing contributions, our state is one of the best places to live, work and visit in the nation attracting an average of 280 new residents every day.”
The 16 state employees being honored have made a positive and noteworthy difference in the areas of customer service, efficiency and innovation, public service, human relations, outstanding state government service and safety and heroism. They were selected out of 118 nominations submitted.
“Their generosity of spirit, the genuine passion they bring to their jobs each and every day... and their outstanding commitment to excellence in communities across North Carolina is inspiring,” said Paula Woodhouse, Interim Director of the Office of State Human Resources (OSHR).
