“Across the state there are thousands of job opportunities available in which people have the ability to serve in rewarding and challenging roles, truly helping people and making a difference in their lives,” said State Human Resources Director Barbara Gibson. “If you are interested in working for an organization committed to ensuring that North Carolina remains a great place to live, work and raise a family, I encourage you to join us at the State of North Carolina Career Expo to learn about job opportunities available at our agencies and universities.”

Participants can learn more about the mission, values and available positions at individual state agencies and universities by visiting their individual booths. Recruiters will be available to make one-on-one connections with potential candidates.

There will be a booth at the event where individuals can sign up for job alerts and create a North Carolina state government application profile. NCWorks and Dress for Success Triangle NC will provide additional resources to job seekers through their mobile units.

The career event will also feature live, 30-minute informational sessions from various organizations to support success in the application process for state government jobs, including a session dedicated to providing tips for applying to state jobs. The full list of participating organizations and their scheduled times can be found on the 2023 State of North Carolina Career Expo webpage.

The Higher Education to NC Government career initiative, Ed2NC, will also have a booth to discuss entry-level and internship opportunities with various agencies for current college students and recent graduates. They and others interested in entry-level positions may visit the Ed2NC Entry-Level Positions Data Bank to learn about state government jobs that align with their major and degree.
