Earlier this month, State Human Resources Director Staci Meyer joined Governor Josh Stein to thank state employees in Western N.C. for their commitment and service.

Working hard each day to serve North Carolinians, state employees offer indispensable services to keep our state moving forward. As Western N.C. continues to recover from Hurricane Helene, the administration spent time talking with employees in this region getting to know them better and offering gratitude for their dedication.

Addressing a packed room at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, Director Meyer spoke about the pride she has in being a fellow state employee, how much the region means to her, and emphasized the importance of public service.

“Western North Carolina holds a special place in my heart, as my formative years were spent here,” said Director Meyer. “Our agency now has a Western N.C. office, and I’m looking forward to serving these communities.”

Employees got one-on-one time with the governor, first lady, the director, and other senior staff from the governor’s office.
