We’re proud to announce that the State of North Carolina has been named a recipient of the 2025 Theo Award, a national recognition honoring innovation and leadership in workers’ compensation.
Presented jointly by National Comp and Risk & Insurance, this award was named for President Theodore Roosevelt, who enacted the country’s first significant workers’ comp legislation.
North Carolina’s recognition highlights its outstanding work during Hurricane Helene, to ensure continuity of benefits during the worst natural disaster in the state’s history.
OSHR’s very own Cathy Pope, state workers’ compensation manager, was featured in Risk & Insurance's coverage of this year’s winners.
This honor underscores the indispensable services offered by state employees, who are committed to public service, and work hard to create a safer and stronger North Carolina for all.
