On December 15, 2025, North Carolina state employees gathered at the Executive Mansion for the State Employee Holiday Reception. Hosted by the Office of State Human Resources and the Governor’s Office, the event brought together the state’s greatest asset -- its employees -- to celebrate the holiday season and express gratitude for one another. Governor Stein and State Human Resources Director Staci Meyer offered remarks, thanking state employees for their hard work and dedication to create meaningful opportunity for every North Carolinian to succeed.
“The work we do as state employees is different,” said State Human Resource Director, Staci Meyer. “Service is inherent in all our roles. There is a sense of purpose and pride in knowing what can be achieved together and in seeing how our collective efforts are helping to make a safer and stronger North Carolina.”

After a year marked by challenges, achievements, and moments of resilience, Governor Stein reaffirmed that the work of state employees matters. “You have persisted through numerous setbacks, and people have continued benefiting from your work,” said Governor Stein. “It’s through our collaborative efforts that we can achieve things for the more than 11 million people who call this great state home.”
