Major: Chemistry, Entomology, Pest Management, Horticulture, Plant Pathology
Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, entomology, pest management, horticulture, plant pathology or a closely related biological science from an appropriately accredited institution
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Considerable knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to registration, sales, storage use and handling of pesticides. - Considerable knowledge of the pesticide industry, pesticide toxicity, safety, and disposal. Working knowledge of pesticide application equipment and techniques. - Ability to work independently in planning, scheduling and carrying out duties. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the regulated industry and the general public. - Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form. - Ability to read and interpret complex pesticide labels and apply use, storage and disposal directions to specific situations. - Ability to understand and explain applicable laws, rules, and regulations. - Ability to complete required forms, records, and reports.
