Paid Parental Leave Policy

The law on paid parental leave for state employees, N.C.G.S. 126-8.6, became effective July 1, 2023. Section 126-8.6 was revised by 2023 House Bill 190, Session Law 2023-65, before its effective date. This version of the Paid Parental Leave Policy includes the effect of the House Bill 190 revisions. Permanent rules were adopted effective August 1, 2024.
