About NCDPS
The North Carolina Department of Public Safety is comprised of approximately 6,000 employees, along with about 10,000 North Carolina National Guard soldiers and airmen. Through effective law enforcement, juvenile justice programs, emergency response and recovery and homeland security preparedness, DPS employees help to ensure North Carolina is a safe place to live, work and visit.
Temporary Security Guards Needed
NCDPS is in need of temporary Security Guards at its Juvenile Justice facilities. Security guards work to provide monitoring, security and protection in their assigned area and are vital to NCDPS operations.
Pay is $17.70 per hour for first shift and $22.00 per hour for second and third shifts. Temporaries who have a full-time work schedule may be eligible for employer-provided health insurance coverage.
Candidates must have:
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Basic knowledge of standard safety, surveillance and security practices and equipment
Basic knowledge of standard methods of reporting and handling emergencies such as disturbances, fires, medical, and security threats
Basic knowledge of the items/property being guarded
Security Guard positions may require the ability to complete emergency medical technician (EMT) training and meet re-certification standards as required.
