
Kyle Byrnes
Kyle Byrnes is communications director for the N.C. Office of State Human Resources (OSHR). He oversees the team responsible for strategic communications, aimed at building trust and goodwill with key stakeholders through awareness and engagement. Additionally, Kyle is the chief spokesman for Director Meyer and OSHR, and advises the agency on all reputational matters.
He joins North Carolina state government from the private sector, where he has helped organizations communicate with confidence, elevate their reputations, and drive positive stakeholder impact. With communications experience that spans in-house and consultancy roles, Kyle has served as a corporate spokesperson, strategist, and trusted counselor to executive leaders.
As an adjunct professor of public relations, Kyle works to advance the practice of PR and shape the next generation of communicators.
Kyle earned a Master of Science in Public Relations from Quinnipiac University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Keene State College, a University System of New Hampshire institution.
He and his wife are the parents of two young sons and live in Holly Springs.
