Nancy Astrike

Deputy Director of Workforce Services

Nancy Astrike is a deputy director for the North Carolina Office of State Human Resources (OSHR), overseeing the employee relations, local and government services, learning and development, equal employment opportunity, and performance management functions. Additionally, she supervises the Statewide Mediation Program.

Nancy has spent her entire 32-year state government career at OSHR. She has worked on public policy initiatives including the implementation of Paid Parental Leave, pandemic response and resource development, teleworking initiatives, alternate dispute resolution programs, and separation policies. She is a certified state mediator and a Certified Public Manager through the North Carolina Society of Certified Public Managers (NCSCPM). Nancy was recently recognized by NCSCPM with the Kathi J. Parker Award for outstanding service.

Nancy holds a Master of Public Administration from North Carolina State University, where she was awarded the honor of Valedictorian. She also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a certificate in Human Resource Management from Duke University.
