Major: Pest Management, Entomology, Horticulture, Biology
Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in pest management, entomology, horticulture, biology or a closely related life science from an appropriately accredited institution
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Considerable knowledge of structural pest control practices and procedures, equipment, concepts of pest management problems, pesticides and pesticide toxicity, safety, and disposal. - Considerable knowledge of general or urban and industrial entomology with general knowledge of common construction methods and materials. - Working knowledge of the state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the storage, use and handling of pesticides. - Ability to work independently in planning, scheduling and carrying out duties. - Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the structural pest control industry and other clients. Ability to communicate and to read and interpret complex pesticide labels and apply use, storage and disposal directions to specific situations. - Ability to perform strenuous activities including crawling in confined areas, stooping, bending, climbing, and operating large power hand tools. - Ability to see well with limited light.
