Class Concept
Serves as the technical resource to address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Determines and develops architectural approaches and solutions, conducts business reviews, documents current systems, and develops recommendations of how to proceed with the applications. May contribute to the planning of the overall organizational IT strategy. Position may have direct or indirect involvement in the development of policies, standards, and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation, and use of Information Technology within the enterprise.
Recruitment Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Intermediate knowledge of the business for which the enterprise architecture is being developed
Thorough knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
Intermediate knowledge of IT governance and operations.
Intermediate knowledge of financial modeling as it pertains to IT investment.
Effective communication skills, both written and spoken, including collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills
Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
Project and program management planning and organizational skills, strong customer service orientation and demonstrated skills in time management and prioritization.
Knowledge of risk management of information and IT assets through appropriate standards and security policies
Demonstrated experience in utilizing tactical thinking/decision making skills as well as strategic thinking/decision making
Ability to work with solutions architect(s) to provide a consensus based enterprise solution that is scalable, adaptable, and in responsive to ever changing business needs.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and six years of progressive experience in all areas of information technology architectural components, interfaces and their applications or related work; or Bachelor's degree in business administration or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and seven years of progressive experience in all areas of information technology architectural components, interfaces and their applications or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
