This is skilled work in the care and maintenance of floors. Employees clean and maintain various types of floor surfaces. Employees may serve as lead workers in cleaning and maintaining wood, tile, terrazzo, and carpeted surfaces. Work requires employees to be knowledgeable of established floor finishing techniques, procedures, and correct usage of chemical cleaning agents. Work is performed under close supervision and is reviewed for quality and efficiency.
Recruitment Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of floor care and cleaning.
Skill in the use and care of floor maintenance equipment.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to follow procedural directions in the use of cleaning products.
Minimum Education and Experience
Education and/or experience in floor maintenance work that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade equivalent to one year of experience in a commercial or institutional setting.
