Employees in this class supervises a section or a combination of several laundry operations in an institutional laundry. Work assignments originate as a result of the regular flow of laundry through the various processing stages. General objectives are outlined to the employee and is expected to carry out the work details of a large work section or a combination of several laundry operations under general supervision. Questions of a technical nature are referred to an immediate superior for advice and solution. Work is reviewed for conformity to work standards, adherence to production schedules, and in establishment of good working relationships within the section.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of one or more laundry operations.
Working knowledge of general laundry plant operations.
Ability to instruct workers in new and/or established work procedures.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with section workers and department supervisors.
Ability to read, write, and understand oral and written instructions.
Minimum Education and Experience
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in a commercial or institutional laundry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
