Class Concept
This is consultative work in planning, developing, coordinating, and administering a variety of physical therapy activities in a regional public health program of physical therapy or in providing consultation to physical therapy providers and beneficiaries with regard to physical therapy services covered by Medicaid and NCHC programs. Employee is responsible for the development, implementation, and/or maintenance of physical therapy programs in a region of the State or is responsible for providing expertise and guidance related to physical therapy and related therapies in the administration of policies and procedures for Medicaid programs and services. Work includes: interpreting section goals and activities of the physical therapy aspects of health programs to other regional public health consultant team members and local communities; administering physical therapy treatments in the home and local health department clinics; and participating in the planning and implementation of in-service training programs for local health personnel. Work may also include participation in teaching programs as related to public health physical therapy to student interns.
