This is beginning level work in providing assistance to Veterinarians during necropsy procedures, as well as performing routine preparatory and housekeeping work in maintaining the laboratory, and equipment and supplies. Work also includes mailing equipment and supplies to field offices according to specific instructions, glassware washing, and care of animal colonies. Work may include other related duties as determined by management. Work is supervised by an attending Veterinarian.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to learn basic laboratory techniques, equipment, and terminology.
Ability to operate and perform minor maintenance on laboratory equipment.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions in some detail.
Ability to learn basic animal anatomical structure and sampling techniques to assist veterinarian in necropsy.
Minimum Education and Experience
Education and/or experience in laboratory work that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the job; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
