Positions perform journey level work in the application of paint coating systems used to preserve marine craft. Positions select, mix and apply a variety of coating materials. Work includes the cleaning and general maintenance of work materials including paint guns, regulators, tanks, and hoses. Assignments are received from the Marine Painter Supervisor who inspects work during progress and upon completion.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of standard practices and methods of the painting trade.
Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used in the painting trade.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Minimum Education and Experience
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
