Class Concept
The Cloud Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure using different types of platforms.
Positions in this class manage cloud accounts for various groups and divisions using strategies to develop compliant and efficient services based on business needs. Positions work to automate processes and tasks to provide cloud services and manage cloud tenancy, including account management and billing. Positions ensure that all cloud infrastructure meets regulatory and compliance requirements.
Positions are responsible for the development and maintenance of processes and procedures to ensure that cloud infrastructure is secure, reliable, and scalable. Positions typically monitor cloud infrastructure performance and proactively identify and address issues as they arise.
Positions often collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical issues and improve the performance and efficiency of the enterprise cloud infrastructure to ensure that cloud infrastructure is secure, reliable, and optimized for performance.
Recruitment Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Intermediate knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools
Intermediate knowledge of cloud platforms
Intermediate knowledge of cloud infrastructure best practices, including security, scalability, and performance optimization
Intermediate knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools
Intermediate knowledge of operational processes and procedures for managing cloud tenancy from administrative and financial perspective
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to use industry standard automation tools to provide and manage cloud infrastructure
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution, and three years of progressive experience related to cloud or onpremises infrastructure administration; or Associate degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience related to cloud or on-premises infrastructure administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
