Safe Return to Worksites Guidance and Resources Updated April 6, 2021 Safe Return to Worksites Guidance OSHR Pandemic Safety for State Worksites Guidance In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the phased reopening of North Carolina, the Office of State Human Resources has created this updated guide for pandemic safety for employees working onsite in non-healthcare and non-custody settings. Designed for State agency leadership, human resources, managers, and safety professionals, it may be viewed as a model by other entities. Guidance is subject to change as conditions evolve. OSHA Guidance UPDATED OSHA Guidance issued January 29, 2021: Protecting Workers’ Guidance on Mitigating and Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 in the Workplace This Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidance is intended to inform employers and workers in most workplace settings outside of healthcare to help them identify risks of being exposed to and/or contracting COVID-19 at work and to help them determine appropriate control measures to implement. COVID-19 Physical Facility Checklist This document provides a checklist to guide the preparation of physical facilities at state worksites during the State’s three phase reopening plan. This checklist provides instruction for preparing physical spaces in a manner that increases safety measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. COVID-19 Agency Worksite Coordinator Checklist This document provides a checklist for each agency's COVID-19 coordinator to assist them in preparing their worksite during the State’s three phase reopening plan. This checklist provides a list of items that all COVID-19 worksite coordinators should be familiar with during the phased reopening and thereafter. COVID-19 Positive Employee Notification Letter This document provides state agencies with a template letter to be used should a state employee test positive for COVID-19. The letter includes information pertaining to the facility/location affected, the date that the individual was last in the facility/location and the steps being taken following the positive test. The document also includes helpful resources for state employees. Child Care and Work-Life Balance Resource for state employees needing assistance with child care and work-life balance as virtual and partial in-person instruction resumes. COVID-19 Symptom Screening Tool for Employees Reporting Onsite The NC State Employee COVID-19 Symptom Screening Tool is available for employees to perform daily COVID-19 self-health screenings. Safe Return to Worksites Flyers and Signage Safe Return to Worksites Flyers - English OSHR has created flyers to post in prominent places in state government worksites. These flyers provide best practices and guidelines to follow when employees begin returning to the worksite.
