This is professional audio-logical work in diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic programming serving children and/or adults with hearing loss, deafness and/or communication disabilities. Work involves audio logical testing, evaluation, counseling, instruction, habilitation, or rehabilitation related to hearing loss, deafness and/or communication disabilities for the purpose of identifying, preventing, improving, or correcting such disabilities and conditions for clients served. Work may involve consultation with a variety of clients, clients' parents, families, physicians, and other professional disciplines or agencies. Work may also include supervision.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Considerable knowledge of the agency and program goals.
Considerable knowledge of available referral resources.
Considerable knowledge of the application of professional audio logical theory, techniques, and practices. Considerable knowledge of the work unit and the unit's policies and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of standard audio logical tests, processes and evaluations, and of the type and/or group of clients' particular speech/hearing disabilities.
Ability to conduct audio logical assessments and to develop treatment plans; to express one's self in oral and written form and to maintain client records and charts.
Ability to gain the confidence of clients and to work effectively with then to gain cooperation for optimum results.
Ability to supervise technicians and aides.
Minimum Education and Experience
Licensed by the Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
