This is administrative work in directing a broad comprehensive social research project and/or program with staff in a state agency. Positions advise and make recommendations to top agency management on the development of policies, economic forecasts, and other programmatic issues. The range of duties may include, but are not limited to: application of economic theory and statistical techniques; economic impact analysis and modeling; cost/benefits analysis; trend analysis; forecasting; regional science; computer programing and applications specific to program goals; public finance and taxation; and communication of complex information in an understandable and informative manner. Positions supervise and direct research staff and managers and report to top agency management.
Recruitment Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of personnel and fiscal management, social research concepts, practices and procedures, and short and long term planning and budgeting.
Ability to develop and monitor research project plans, direct staff in performance of research duties, and to evaluate and allocate resources.
Minimum Education and Experience
Master's degree in relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of professional experience in government or business; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
