RIF Checklist

It is Human Resources responsibility to prepare managers and supervisors for an impending reduction in force (RIF). Part of those responsibilities includes providing managers and supervisors with an overview of the agency’s or university’s RIF policy. In addition, Human Resources is strongly encouraged to meet with managers and supervisors to address any questions they may have to the extent possible.

Furthermore, Human Resources is responsible for providing guidance to managers and supervisors on how to conduct a RIF notification meeting.
