Worksite Wellness State of North Carolina Lunch and Learn Events

The North Carolina Office of State Human Resources offers free monthly webinars available to all State Employees. Discover nutritious recipes and learn new ways to take care of your mind and body.

How To Participate

There are two ways to participate in a Wellness Webinar:

  • Register in advance by clicking "Register" on your webinar of choice and completing the registration form to receive reminder emails. These emails will include a link to join the event.
  • Avoid receiving reminder emails by attending without registering. Simply click "Join" at the start of the webinar to join the live event.

Can't attend a webinar live? No problem. Recordings of each Wellness Webinar are saved in the "On-Demand" section within a few days of the event.

Need an accommodation to attend? If you are deaf or hard of hearing, resources are available to make Worksite Wellness programs accessible. Please email ncflex@nc.gov to request accommodation services. To account for scheduling and booking constraints, all requests must be made at least 14 days before the scheduled event.

September 15, 2026:  The Importance of Protein at Breakfast

Starting the day with a protein-rich meal can improve energy, focus, metabolism, and overall health. This presentation highlights the role of protein in supporting muscle maintenance, controlling hunger, and stabilizing blood sugar levels throughout the day. Sign up for this free, online Statewide Wellness Program Lunch and Learn where Katie Godin, RD, LDN from LifeStyle Medical Center will be discussing practical breakfast ideas and simple strategies for incorporating high-quality protein into busy morning routines. After a brief presentation, Katie will then be demonstrating how to make a simple and delicious egg bite recipe!

October 20, 2026:  The Science of Cravings

Understanding why we crave certain foods goes far beyond simple hunger. Cravings are shaped by a complex interaction between the brain, hormones, emotions, habits, and even our environment. From the sudden urge for sugary snacks to emotional comfort eating, science reveals that cravings are deeply connected to how our bodies and minds function. During this free, online Statewide Wellness Program Lunch and Learn Katie Godin, RD, LDN from LifeStyle Medical Center will discuss the biological and psychological factors that drive cravings, how they influence our choices, and what research tells us about managing them in a healthier way. After a brief presentation, Katie will demonstrate how to make one of her favorite healthy muffin recipes!
